Pastor Maldonado a South American Winner

The Spanish Grand Prix was a perfect example of how a race can be won or lost by a good or bad strategy decision.

The Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado did history last sunday with the first victory of a pilot of his country in the Formula 1, winning the GP of Catalunya. Pastor from Maracay beat  the local Fernando Alonso and won the race for Williams.

Maldonado had already surprised last Saturday remaining second in qualifying, and then making the pole position after a penalty on Lewis Hamilton (McLaren).

The national anthem of the South American country was  heard at the Catalan circuit while Maldonado could barely contain his excitement for having placed his country on the map of F1, something that his  predecessor Johnny Cecotto could not achieve in 1983 and 1984.

The last race has confirmed that we have entered into a completely unpredictable season, more interesting than last year.

CONGRATULATIONS VENEZUELA, CONGRATULATIONS SOUTH AMERICA!!
